All aboard inclusive children’s playground

Children with disability can now access a new inclusive playground in Sienna Wood, Hilbert.

The Sienna Wood Shipwreck Adventure Park was officially opened today by Disability Services Minister Stephen Dawson. The 6,000 square metre playground, within the 6.3 hectare park, gives children with disability the opportunity to play, explore and socialise.

The playground is part of the Sienna Wood development, delivered in partnership between the Department of Communities (Housing) and Stockland.

Today’s opening marks the United Nations-sanctioned International Day of People with Disability and the start of Disability Awareness Week, which runs from December 3-9. It is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements and contribution of people with disability and highlight the value of inclusive and accessible communities.
