Man, 29, arrested over Northbridge sexual assault

Sex Assault Squad detectives have charged a man as a result of their investigation into several incidents that occurred in Northbridge on Thursday, 5 April 2018.

Around 8pm two girls aged 13 and 17 years were walking along William Street when they struck up a conversation with a man they didn’t know. The three of them continued walking and on Aberdeen Street it is alleged the man indecently assaulted the 13 year old girl.

The three continued on until they got to a tennis club on Fitzgerald Street, where it is alleged the man sexually assaulted the 17 year old girl. The man fled when a member of the public came to the aid of the victim.

Around 9:35pm, it is alleged the man indecently assaulted a 20 year old woman outside a café on Lake Street.

Police arrested the 29 year old man last night (6 April 2018) on Lake Street, Northbridge. The man of no fixed address was charged with:

  • Two counts of Sexual Penetration without Consent;
  • One count of Indecent Assault; and
  • One count of Supply Liquor to a Juvenile.

He is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today, 7 April 2018.
