Young people invited to join international tour celebrating Armistice

Young Western Australians aged 18 to 25 years have been invited to apply for a once-in-a-lifetime tour of France to commemorate the Centenary of Armistice, on November 11, 2018.

Up to eight young people will join a 10-day tour visiting battlegrounds and other sites of historical significance from World War I – also known as the Great War.

The WA Centenary of Armistice Tour will give participants the chance to exchange ideas and experiences, and share their learnings with their communities when they return home. Applicants must respond to questions about the importance of World War I to Australia in written or audiovisual formats. Participants will be chosen on the basis of their interest and connection to Armistice, and on how they will engage with the WA community about the centenary celebrations before and after the tour.

People from diverse communities are urged to apply. The closing date is Friday, April 7. For more information, visit https://www.communities.wa.gov.au/about/projects-and-programs
