New developments to reinvigorate Shenton Park heritage

The State Government has today announced the successful proponents of the first two development sites at LandCorp’s Montario Quarter in Shenton Park.

TRG Properties, in partnership with Primewest, have secured Lot 37 – a 10,127sqm mixed-use site fronting Selby Street. Meanwhile, Fini Group will redevelop the heritage-listed Victoria House and surrounds on Lot 38.

The Montario Quarter developments will deliver more housing, business and entertainment options close to Shenton Park train station.

Expected to be delivered by 2020, TRG and Primewest’s mixed-use development will feature ground floor retail and commercial space, including a supermarket, health-related service providers, specialist food and wine providers, cafés and other boutique retail offerings.

The repurposing of Victoria House, to be undertaken by Fini Group, is planned to draw on the history of the site by incorporating elements of health, wellness and art as inspiration for the development.

Each of the six wings of the former hospital building is planned to include opportunities for community activation such as food and beverage venues, artisan retail offerings, artist studios and a proposed furniture and homeware concept store.

Fini Group is also proposing an urban farm, combining a plant nursery, educational programs and the opportunity for residents and hospitality venues to cultivate produce through a ‘farm to fork’ connection.
