Police suspect arson cause of Coolbellup fire

Arson Squad Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance with information to assist with their investigation into a fire at a home in Coolbellup on Sunday, 25 February 2018.

Emergency services were called to the home on Dion Place around 3:20am, after the occupants were woken by the sound of an explosion and saw a gazebo in their backyard on fire.

The gazebo and contents were destroyed by the fire and the cost of the damage is estimated at $45,000.

The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate and investigators would like to speak to anyone who was in area around the time of the fire, or earlier in the evening who saw any suspicious activity, persons or vehicles.
