Community invited to comment on the impacts of methamphetamine use in WA

The WA Government’s Methamphetamine Action Plan (MAP) Taskforce is undertaking public consultation and is seeking comments from those affected by methamphetamine in Western Australia.

Members of the community, including individuals and families directly affected, as well as health service providers, community workers and business owners, are invited to contribute their views through the Methamphetamine Action Plan Taskforce website.

Community views and insights are vital in helping the MAP Taskforce formulate its advice to the State Government on practical ways to reduce harm, supply and demand of methamphetamine in WA. The online comment period is open until March 16, 2018.

The taskforce will provide advice to the State Government on gaps in services and how programs can best meet the needs of the community, in particular targeting areas of greatest need.

Chaired by Ron Alexander, and including members of the community and experts in the field, the taskforce will also provide advice on opportunities for better collaboration between government agencies, communities and businesses.  The taskforce will also investigate the potential for successful interstate or overseas programs to be adapted to WA circumstances.
