Nominations still open for PM’s Veterans’ Employment Awards

Veterans Issues Minister Peter Tinley has urged eligible individuals and organisations to nominate for the Prime Minister’s inaugural Veterans’ Employment Awards.

The awards demonstrate the importance government places on raising the awareness of public and private sector employers of the value and unique experience of our veterans and recognise those employers who support this valuable human resource.

The six main categories of awards are:

  • Leadership in Recruitment of Veterans;
  • Veterans’ Employer of the Year – Large Business;
  • Veterans’ Employer of the Year – Small to Medium Sized Business;
  • Veterans’ Employer of the Year – Public Sector Organisation;
  • Excellence in Supporting Spouse Employment; and
  • Veteran Employee of the Year

Two other awards to be presented are not open for nominations.

The Outstanding Contribution by an Organisation to Veterans’ Employment will recognise the standout winner from the categories listed under organisations; and the Outstanding Contribution by an Individual to Veterans’ Employment will be selected from a list compiled from suggestions invited directly from the Government, business and veteran communities.
