Investigation into sudden death after crash

Carnarvon Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in a traffic crash, that occurred around 8.45pm yesterday evening, Sunday 29 October 2017 in South Plantations, 5km east of Carnarvon.

The man was driving a white coloured Ford Falcon Utility that was stationary on the shoulder of North West Coastal Highway. For an unknown reason, the vehicle travelled in a south westerly direction at a speed of between 10 and 20 kilometres per hour and struck a small sign post.

The 45 year old male driver of the Ford Falcon Utility was located unresponsive and a passing motorist alerted emergency services. Attempts were made to revive the man and he was taken to Carnarvon Hospital, however he sadly passed away. A post mortem will be performed to determine the cause of death.

Carnarvon Police would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the crash, or the white Ford Falcon Utility driving in the area prior to the crash.
