WA youth to represent State in exchange program with Hong Kong

Twelve young Western Australians will represent the State in Hong Kong this coming February as part of the International Youth Exchange Program (IYEP).

The delegates were chosen to represent Western Australia for demonstrating their willingness to go the extra mile for their communities.

The exchange program gives delegates opportunities to better understand different cultures, build self-confidence and develop international friendships and networks as a base for their future education and career goals.

WA is currently hosting 12 delegates from Hong Kong who are visiting Perth until October 30. The Hong Kong delegates will be given a special presentation during a visit to State Parliament today (October 25).

The Hong Kong-Western Australia IYEP – now in its second year – is an initiative of the Western Australian Government and the Home Affairs Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administration Region Government.

The State Government contributes $60,000 to the program.
