Glamping given the go-ahead on Rottnest

Glamorous camping, otherwise known as ‘glamping’, accommodation will be available at Rottnest Island from the summer of 2018-19, after plans to build a new beachfront eco-resort at the popular holiday destination were conditionally approved.

The 2.8 hectare development, known as Pinky Beach Eco Retreat and Beach Club, will be an ecologically sensitive, world-class eco retreat built as part of the Rottnest Island Authority’s vision for revitalising the Island’s accommodation offerings.

The Eco Retreat will provide different levels of accommodation to suit various budgets, available from about $100 up to $350 per night.

The accommodation will be supported by a Beach Club comprising of a licensed bar, cafe, restaurant and function area with views over the ocean to Perth.

Access to Pinky Beach will also be improved with the development, with two extra boardwalks and new access to The Basin, linking to the Wadjemup Bidi walk trail.
