Community Citizen of the Year Award Nominations Open

Nominations for outstanding individuals or groups who have made a significant contribution to community life are being sought by the City of Perth.

CEO Martin Mileham said the Community Citizen of the Year Awards recognise those who have demonstrated leadership and enhanced the community.

“These awards are an opportunity to celebrate people who are proud of Perth, who have a sense of responsibility to the community and who have brought about positive change as a result,” Mr Mileham said.

Nominations are sought in four categories:

  • Community Citizen of the Year
  • Community Citizen of the Year (Youth)
  • Community Citizen of the Year (Senior)
  • Active Citizenship (Group or Event)

Former Police Commissioner Dr Karl O’Callaghan, former Salvation Army Volunteer Mrs Shirley Mort and Festival Italia won in 2017.

To be eligible, nominees must reside or work principally within the City of Perth.
