Business Grants Support Local Enterprise in the City of Perth

Recognising the important role small and medium enterprises play in achieving a dynamic Capital City, City of Perth has recently approved its latest round of Business Improvement Grants.

CEO Martin Mileham said the annual grants were valued at almost $100,000 and had been approved for 14 businesses across the CBD, Northbridge, East Perth and West Perth.

“Small and medium businesses represent the majority of all enterprise within the City of Perth. In the current economic climate, the panel determined that all proposed projects had the ability to deliver positive outcomes for the overall City experience,” Mr Mileham said.

“Leveraged by a total of more than $2.1-million in private investment, City of Perth Council has approved a level of funding to all applicants, despite a competitive round of grants. It is great to see such a wide variety of applicants this year, across venues such as live music, comedy performance, health and wellness, food and beverage and retail.

“Capitalising on private investment, the City’s support of small and medium enterprise will contribute to increased employment and the on-going resilience and diversity of the local economy, securing a stronger future for our Capital City in years to come.”
