The Let’s Prevent pilot program is an early intervention initiative designed to educate, inform and empower those at high risk of chronic disease to make better lifestyle choices about food and alcohol consumption, and other factors.
Chronic disease is a significant burden on the State’s health system.
According to a 2014 report published by the Australian Institute of Health and Wellbeing, up to 80 per cent of chronic conditions such as heart disease; stroke; and type 2 diabetes, and more than one-third of cancers, could be prevented with lifestyle changes.
The WA Government has delivered on its promise to fund the Let’s Prevent pilot program designed to support people at high risk of developing chronic conditions, including diabetes.
