WA’s cultural diversity on the runway

Diversity will shine at this year’s Telstra Perth Fashion Festival with the introduction of The Language of Fashion: Multicultural Runway, featuring models and clothing honouring the breadth of cultures in Western Australia.

The new addition to the festival is part a suite of free events being held at Fashion Centre in Forrest Place and is supported by the McGowan Government via the Office of Multicultural Interests’ Community Grants Program.

Fashion Council WA have worked closely with community groups to develop the event, which will showcase a number of African, Indian and modest dress collections.

The event aims to provide a platform for culturally diverse groups at one of the State’s most popular festivals as well as further highlight WA’s dynamic fashion sector to the vibrant cultures right on their doorstep.

The Language of Fashion: Multicultural Runway is on Saturday, September 9 from 3pm at Forrest Place. For more information, visit http://www.omi.wa.gov.au
