The State Government will today give Western Australian police a pay rise, $1,000 per annum, which is consistent with the last offer made to the Police Union.
The pay rise will be delivered immediately to help support police officers during the COVID-19 pandemic, and ensure they remain focused on the task at hand during this critical time.
The union’s members supported the deal in a ballot, where there was a strong 66 per cent turnout and 62 per cent voted to support the deal.
This follows the Government’s announcement earlier this week that up to 20 days of paid leave will be available to all public sector workers in response to COVID-19.
The State Government and Police Union are currently seeking to resolve the broader industrial agreement through the Industrial Relations Commission and this payment will form part of the final agreement.
