Arrests made after man lured to Tuart Hill park, abducted

Major Fraud Squad detectives have charged three men in relation to an incident that started in Tuart Hill on Monday 26 March 2018.

The male victim arranged to meet an associate at a park in Tuart Hill and on arrival he was approached by an unknown man and ordered into a vehicle at gunpoint. In the vehicle was a second unknown man who was also armed with a firearm. The victim was ordered to drive to his home address in the vehicle, where he was restrained while the men searched his residence. The victim was ordered to hand over cash and other valuables. The men left the residence in the victim’s vehicle.

Major Fraud Squad detectives took carriage of the investigation and executed search warrants yesterday, Wednesday 28 March 2018, in Seville Grove, Perth and Osborne Park. The Tactical Response Group assisted with the execution of the search warrants.

Two firearms, being a rifle and a shotgun, were allegedly seized during the search warrants, along with an amount of Methylamphetamine.

Three men were arrested.

An 45 year old man from Tuart Hill has been charged with:

  • Detained another with Intent to Gain a Benefit
  • Aggravated Armed Robbery
  • Possess a Prohibited Drug (Methylamphetamine)
  • Possess Drug Paraphernalia

An 39 year old man of no fixed address has been charged with:

  • Detained another with Intent to Gain a Benefit
  • Aggravated Armed Robbery
  • Steal Motor Vehicle
  • Aggravated Home Burglary and Commit

An 49 year old man from Perth has been charged with:

  • Detained another with Intent to Gain a Benefit
  • Aggravated Armed Robbery
  • Steal Motor Vehicle
  • Aggravated Home Burglary and Commit
  • Gains Benefit by Fraud

All three men have been refused bail and are due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today, Thursday 29 March 2018.
