Expressions of interest to become a member of the Aboriginal Lands Trust (ALT) are currently open.
The ALT is responsible for providing advice to the Minister for Aboriginal Affairs on Aboriginal land issues impacting on the ALT estate, including:
- Realising the potential of the land, including its divestment;
- Sustaining cultural and economic values;
- Improving the management of the estate; and
- Optimising government investment.
There are three positions available, each with a four-year term of appointment.
The State Government wants to increase the total number of women appointed to government boards and committees by 50 per cent by 2019. Aboriginal women are strongly encouraged to apply to join this significant board.
