Driver caught filming girl from car

Joondalup Detectives have charged a man as a result of their investigation into an incident in Butler on Wednesday 28 February 2018.

Sometime between 3pm and 4:30pm, a 12 year old girl was walking along Lukin Drive when she noticed a white Holden Commodore was keeping pace alongside her.

It is alleged the male driver was filming her on his mobile phone. The girl sought assistance from a member of the public and the vehicle was also seen in the carpark of the shopping centre at the corner of Connolly and Lukin Drives.

Inquiries by Joondalup Detectives resulted in the apprehension of the man. A search of his vehicle was conducted and police located and seized two mobiles phone. Images on the mobile phones lead to a search warrant being executed at the man’s home in Yangebup where a number of electronic storage devices were located and seized by police.

Further analysis of the seized electronic storage devices and mobile phones is currently being undertaken.

The 37 year old man from the Yangebup has been charged with Aggravated Stalking.

He is due to appear in the Joondalup Magistrates Court today, Thursday, 15 March 2018.
