Festival showcases multicultural South-West

More than 5,000 people will flock to Bunbury this weekend to celebrate the cultural diversity of the South-West at the annual Live Lighter South West Multicultural Festival.

The festival has evolved into one of the most popular festivals in the region and one of the biggest multicultural festivals in the State.

The event includes cultural demonstrations, arts and crafts, interactive workshops and food.  It culminates in the popular Multicultural Night Under the Stars concert, featuring dance and music from around the world.

This year will also see the introduction of the ‘Experience Hub’, offering more intimate, experiential workshops and hands-on activities such as Aboriginal craft, henna tattoos, turban wrapping, drumming workshops, gyoza-making and more.

The festival promotes the celebration of cultural diversity as well as actively developing networks between existing, new and emerging culturally diverse groups in the community.
