78 man charged with historical sexual abuse offence

Rockingham Detectives have charged a 78 year old man as a result of their extensive investigation into historical child sexual abuse allegations.

It will be alleged between January and November 1979, the man sexually assaulted a boy who was 15 years of age. The man was the owner of a gardening and handyman business at the time, and the victim was employed as the man’s assistant.

The man from Scarborough has been charged with:

  • 10 counts of Unlawful and Indecent Assault; and
  • One count of Carnal Knowledge Against Nature.

He is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today, 6 February 2018.
