Increased flights from Jakarta to boost tourism

Garuda Indonesia, the national carrier of Indonesia, has announced an extra (fifth) flight per week from Jakarta to Perth, starting from May 4, 2018.

The extra service is expected to boost visitor numbers to Western Australia from one of our fastest growing tourism markets.

The State Government, in partnership with Perth Airport, had a pivotal role in achieving the additional service to WA.

Discussions with Garuda Indonesia were boosted by Asian Engagement Minister Bill Johnston when he met with the airline on a recent Ministerial trip to Indonesia.

Increasing aviation access to the State is key to attracting more visitors, creating jobs and diversifying the economy.
