Thousands to fly to Perth for world Frisbee championships

The State Government, through Tourism Western Australia, is sponsoring the World Flying Disc Federation’s 2018 World U24 Ultimate Championships, which is expected to attract thousands of visitors to Perth.

The biennial championships comprise national teams, featuring players aged 14 to 24, competing in three divisions – men’s, women’s and mixed.

More than 1,200 competitors and about 1,300 visitors from about 23 countries are expected to visit Perth for the event, making a significant contribution of about $2.4 million to WA’s economy.

The 2018 championships are sanctioned by the World Flying Disc Federation and managed by the Australian Flying Disc Association.

The event will be held on January 7-13, 2018 at the UWA Sports Club in Mount Claremont.
