Police accept State Government’s wages policy

The WA Police Union has accepted a $1,000 per annum public sector wages policy.

It was revealed this morning that the majority of union members, 86 per cent, voted in favour.

This announcement follows the Civil Service Association, which covers nearly 40,000 employees, also accepting the public sector wages policy.

In May, the public sector wages policy was introduced to help with the difficult task of repairing the State Budget.

This includes a $1,000 a year salary increase, 10 days paid family and domestic violence leave, and preference for direct employment of staff.
