Call for Expert Panel members to develop Recovery College model

The WA Government is continuing to drive change and fresh thinking in the mental health sector by investing $200,000 for the co-design of a Recovery College model in Western Australia.

Recovery Colleges will complement existing mental health support services, by delivering self-directed recovery and learning opportunities in a safe and welcoming environment.

They aim to help an individual’s recovery through an education-based platform and reduce stigma, in relation to mental health and co-occurring alcohol and other drug problems.

Expressions of interest are sought for consumer and carer representatives, clinicians, service providers and academics to join the Expert Panel, which will oversee the co-design of the model of service in conjunction with the Mental Health Commission.

Once the model of service has been developed, it will be available for public comment.
