Cafe project to provide essential training for unemployed youth

The Australian Arab Association has launched a pop-up cafe facility in the Thornlie area to provide training and jobs for the local community.

The Australian Arab Association pop-up cafe, which will be located in Homestead Park, received funding of $100,000 through the McGowan Labor Government’s Local Projects, Local Jobs initiative.

The project will focus on providing training to unemployed local youth in the areas of hospitality, small business and customer service – ensuring that they have the skills to join the workforce.

It will also provide participants with an opportunity to engage with the community and develop a sense of belonging.

The Association is a non-profit organisation that aims to foster understanding and build knowledge of culturally and linguistically diverse communities and their contributions towards the economy, culture and education in Western Australia.
