The best of the best in Western Australian tourism was celebrated tonight at the 2017 Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards Gala Dinner, with 29 gold medals and two individual accolades awarded to industry leaders at Crown Perth.
The Awards, which showcase the best in the industry for their outstanding customer service, innovation and ongoing business excellence, were presented in front of industry colleagues from across the State.
Tourism Council WA CEO Evan Hall said each and every year the Awards were contended by high-calibre and industry-leading businesses who have dedicated their lives to showcasing the State to visitors.
“Everyone who enters the Awards is passionate about offering amazing experiences to our visitors and we continue to see great diversity among the businesses and individuals who enter the awards, and ultimately take home the medals, each year,” he said.
“The Awards program has a long-held history of recognising the great quality among our tourism operators, which it has done now for 45 years.”
The Awards ceremony culminated in the presentation of the industry’s highest business accolade, the Sir David Brand Award, presented to Horizontal Falls Seaplane Adventures for their continual commitment to increasing visitor numbers to the Kimberley and providing visitors with a truly unique and breathtaking experience. The business also took home a Gold Medal in the Adventure Tourism and Unique Accommodation categories, and a Silver Medal in the Tourist Attractions category.
The Awards are made possible by the continual support of several sponsors, particularly Principal Sponsor Perth Airport, which is a major supporter of the tourism industry in general.

The gold medallists in categories 1 to 25 will go on to represent Western Australia at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards, being held at Perth Stadium on February 23, 2018.
