HBF Arena opens new $24 million home for West Perth Football Club and Wanneroo Basketball Association

Sport and Recreation Minister Mick Murray will today officially open the brand new basketball and football facilities at HBF Arena following an extensive $24 million redevelopment with majority of the funding from the State Government.

The finished project marks the completion of a four-part investment in community sporting infrastructure which has seen the existing community sporting facilities at HBF Arena transformed – while creating local jobs in a variety of industries.

The redevelopment includes new function areas, player amenities, football development services and administration and member facilities for the West Perth Football Club.

Four brand new basketball courts have also been constructed to the south of the existing courts at HBF Arena, providing a new home for the Wanneroo Basketball Association. Additional parking facilities have also been delivered.

Northern suburbs communities, the Wanneroo Basketball Club and West Perth Football Club now have access to a venue with world-class facilities, providing the perfect place to foster sporting success and support social sport.

Local and State government representatives, key project contributors, and members from the respective basketball and football clubs gathered to celebrate the completion of the project and mark the official opening.
