Western Australia’s arts ‘champions’ honoured

Culture and the Arts Minister David Templeman last night announced the recipients of the inaugural State Arts and Culture Partnership Honours.

The honours acknowledge the outstanding contributions of individual philanthropists and businesses who partner with arts and cultural organisations across Western Australia.

The honourees included individual arts patrons such as Jack and Eleanor Bendat, and corporate partners such as the City of Fremantle, Rio Tinto, Woodside and Wesfarmers Arts (see full list below).

The honours recognised partnerships across several categories including Aboriginal arts, arts development, community investment, regional arts and culture, innovation and sustainability, international partnerships, and young people and the arts.

The honours ceremony was organised by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries and held at the State Theatre Centre in Northbridge.
