On September 29, 2017, the Economic Regulation Authority (ERA) provided Treasurer Ben Wyatt with its final report on the Emergency Services Levy (ESL) and the Treasurer will table the report in State Parliament today (October 19).
The final report will be available on the Economic Regulation Authority’s website after it has been tabled in Parliament.
The Economic Regulation Authority Act 2003 requires the Treasurer to table the final report in each House of Parliament within 28 days after receiving the final report.
The previous Liberal National Government requested earlier this year that the ERA review the arrangements for managing and distributing ESL funds to emergency services in Western Australia.
The ERA’s final report incorporates findings from an extensive public consultation process, including submissions received in response to an issues paper and a draft report.
The McGowan Labor Government will consider the recommendations of the ERA report.
