SPURonWA grants offered to WA innovators for location-based ideas

Western Australian start-ups, businesses and individuals working on innovative location-based products or services are encouraged to apply for the second round of SPURonWA grants, which opens on Monday, September 11, 2017.

Round one of the SPURonWA program generated 47 applications, from which Landgate awarded grants to nine businesses to help them progress their innovative ideas.

The grants can be used towards development costs; intellectual property protection; obtaining business, financial, or marketing advice; and accessing location data.

As well as providing financial support, SPUR also offers access to location data, co-working spaces and commercial mentoring.

SPUR is Landgate’s location and innovation hub that works to stimulate and accelerate economic development in the digital economy.  Last year, Landgate was named the 22nd most innovative company in Australia by the Australian Financial Review.

Applications close on October 6, 2017 and for more information, visit http://www.spur.wa.gov.au
