The RES aims to develop and support smaller regional events across Western Australia. Worth $1 million in 2018-19, the scheme is funded by the State Government through Tourism WA and Royalties for Regions.

The 2019-20 RES round will open in October 2018 and close in December 2018, for events that fall between July 1, 2019 and June 30, 2020.

The continuation of the RAES will be subject to an assessment of the inaugural round of the program.
