Police appealing for witnesses to fire at Wongan Hills home

Northam Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance with information to assist with their investigation into a fire at a home in Wongan Hills on Thursday, 19 April 2018.

Around 10:40pm, Police and Department of Fire and Emergency Services were called to reports of a fire at a house on Wilson Street.

On arrival, the unoccupied home was on fire and a Holden Commodore parked in the adjacent carport was also on fire. Asbestos was located within the building.

The fire destroyed the home and the vehicle and the damaged bill is estimated at $183,000.

The fire is being treated as suspicious and detectives would like to speak to anyone who was in area around the time of the fire, or earlier in the evening who saw any suspicious activity, persons or vehicles.
