Funding to kickstart Coral Bay accommodation project

The State Government has allocated $2.9 million for headworks in the Gascoyne town of Coral Bay that will pave the way for future workers’ accommodation in the region.

The town’s population swells due to an influx of tourists during the winter months, however, local businesses have found it difficult to attract and retain staff due to a shortage of affordable accommodation for workers.

Works will include roads, water, power and sewerage.

The design for the works will commence shortly and civil works are expected to start in October.
