Murray-Wellington schools benefit from extra classroom support

Students in the Murray-Wellington region will benefit from specialist support in the classroom including extra education assistants, Aboriginal and Islander Education Officers and Level 3 teachers.

Students at Brunswick Junction Primary School, Waroona District High School and Yarloop Primary School will have access to more support in the classroom with additional education assistants (3.5 FTEs).

Local Aboriginal children at Harvey Senior High School will get further one-on-one support from additional Aboriginal and Islander Education Officers (0.3 FTE).

Kingston Primary School, North Dandalup Primary School, Parkfield Primary School, Pinjarra Senior High School and Treendale Primary School will share in additional funding for a Level 3 teacher (0.8 FTE) to work in specific areas to benefit students and mentor other teachers, sharing their expertise to enhance teaching practices.

The State Government is also converting classrooms into science laboratories at 100 primary schools across the State in 2018 and 2019 – Carcoola Primary School and Harvey Primary School are part of this initiative.
