About $3.6 million in funding will be shared among 27 organisations, awarded through the Information, Linkages and Capacity (ILC) Building 2017-18 grants program, to help make communities more welcoming, accessible and inclusive of people with disability.
ILC is part of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) that supports community and mainstream services to include, support and involve people with disability. ILC grants enable organisations to improve awareness, develop resources for people and provide connections to services and supports in the community.
Grants for 2017-18 have been awarded for initiatives across four priority areas. These focus on:
- Improving links for people with disability to relevant mainstream and community services;
- Increasing knowledge and capability within mainstream services;
- Connecting people with disability and their communities; and
- Supporting people with disability to engage with and navigate the NDIS.
