METRONET private sector reference group formed

METRONET is kicking in to high gear with key people from housing-related, urban development and property groups being formed to provide high-level advice on upcoming projects.

Stakeholders from organisations with an interest in land value capture, development around station precincts, density and innovative land-use outcomes will contribute to the group.

Eight representatives will be chosen from the Urban Development Institute of Australia, the Planning Institute of Australia, the Property Council of Australia, the Real Estate Institute of WA, the Housing Industry Association, the Master Builders’ Association, the Australian Property Institute and Shelter WA.

These industry bodies will advise on a variety of complex planning issues vital to METRONET. Their recommendations will be referred to the METRONET Team.

The aim of the group is to tap into diverse perspectives and new solutions to ensure METRONET projects capitalise on best-practice planning outcomes, which are reflective of the wider sector’s views.

The METRONET Private Sector Reference Group will meet in coming weeks.
