Woman charged for stealing funds held in trust

Major Fraud Squad Detectives have charged a 45 year old woman as a result of their investigation into her conduct whilst employed as a legal practitioner at a city law firm.

It will be alleged between 2013 and 2017, the woman stole over $1.9 million dollars from a solicitor’s trust account. The money, which included funds held for distribution to deceased estates, had been held in trust for clients of the law firm.

The woman from Kalamunda has been charged with nine counts of Stealing as a Servant.

She is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on 12 March 2018.
