Stolen ashes recovered in Casuarina property search

Armadale Detectives have charged two people in relation to a burglary at a home in Kelmscott on Friday, 2 February 2018.

It is alleged sometime between 11am and 6pm, offenders forced entry into a home on Brookside Avenue and stole a safe which contained a sum of money and the ashes of the home owner’s husband.

Investigations by detectives resulted in a search warrant being executed at a property located on Casuarina Road in Casuarina on Monday, 5 February 2018. It will be further alleged during the search police located and seized the stolen safe, and other various items believed to be stolen including off road motorcycles, a caravan and a .22 firearm.

Officers conducted a further search of the property today (7 February 2018) which resulted in them locating the stolen ashes.

A 17 year old boy from Maddington has been charged with Aggravated Home Burglary; Stealing; Steal a Motor Vehicle and Posses Cannabis. He is next due to appear in the Perth Children’s Court on 8 February 2018.

A 14 year old boy also from Maddington has been charged with Aggravated Home Burglary; Stealing and Steal a Motor Vehicle. He is next due to appear in the Perth Children’s Court on 7 February 2018.
