Investigation into Coogee scrub fire

Detectives from the Arson Squad’s Strike Force Vulcan are investigating a deliberate scrub fire that occurred in Coogee on Saturday 20 January 2018.

Around 7:40pm, emergency services were called to a scrub fire at the Rotary Lookout on King Street. The fire was in close proximity to homes and had the potential to threaten lives and residences.

Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance to identify two male teenagers who were at the Lookout at the time of the fire. It is believed they can assist with this inquiry.

Rewards of up to $50,000 are available for information that leads to the identification and conviction of an arsonist.
