Firearm Search Warrant in Beeliar

Fremantle Detectives have arrested a man for firearm offences as a result of their investigation into allegations of a person modifying replica and blank firing firearms and converting them to live working order in exchange for drugs and ammunition.

On Thursday 30 November 2017, Detectives executed a search warrant at a home on Pearse Road in Beeliar. During the search it is alleged police located and seized:

  • 15 replica and blank firing handguns that were in various stages of modification, four of which had been fully converted to fire live ammunition;
  • In excess of 1000 rounds of ammunition;
  • Various prohibited weapons;
  • Firearm silencers; 
  • Small amounts of Methamphetamine; and
  • Metal working equipment used to modify firearms. 

A 56 year old man from Beeliar is due to appear in the Fremantle Magistrates Court on 19 December 2017, charged with:

  • 13 counts of Unlicensed Person Possess Firearm/Ammunition;
  • 4 counts of Possessed a Prohibited Weapon;
  • 2 counts of Possession of Contrivance known as a Silencer; 
  • 2 counts of Failed to Ensure Safe-Keeping of Firearm/Ammunition; 
  • Possess a Prohibited Drug; and
  • Possessed any Drug Paraphernalia in or on which there was a Prohibited Drug or Plant.
