Seniors housing project in Manjimup hits another milestone

The delivery of more affordable housing options for seniors living in Manjimup is expected to create and support significant employment and economic activity over the next four years.

The Department of Communities hit a key milestone with the Manjimup Seniors Living Project recently, with the start of works to transform the former Manjimup Primary School site into 55 new homes tailored for people over the age of 55.

Redevelopment of the 2.5-hectare site on Moore Street, within easy walking distance of medical, retail and entertainment amenities in the town’s centre, is planned for delivery in five stages. Subject to demand, 10 to 15 homes will be built annually in the next four years.

The initial site works are due for completion in May 2018 with construction of the first homes expected to begin in June 2018.
