Government progress on Bellevue extension and Midland Station relocation project

METRONET continues to forge ahead with the release of a key tender for work on the extension of the Midland Line to Bellevue and the relocation of Midland Station.

This week the METRONET team released a tender for specialist consultants to get involved in the concept planning stages of the project.

It involves the relocation of Midland Station to integrate with surrounding development and the ongoing revitalisation of the Midland Activity Centre, and extending the railway line to Bellevue to enhance access for the surrounding community.

The work to be undertaken will include an options analysis, preliminary land use investigations, planning and concept designs, including any grade separations, stations and surrounding urban precincts.  This work will be supported by the successful tenderer.

Further tenders for other elements of METRONET will be released progressively over the next 12 months.

Members of the public and interested stakeholders will soon be able to find out more about METRONET transport projects, land use planning and more at a new dedicated METRONET website.

Meanwhile, local businesses are encouraged to bid for the works at http://www.tenders.wa.gov.au
