State Government introduces volunteering reference group

The State Government has delivered on a key election commitment in the volunteering space – forming a long-desired reference group alongside peak body Volunteering WA to advise on issues and trends in the sector.

The Volunteering Community Reference Group (VCRG) will work to advance volunteering in Western Australia and provide feedback on the implementation of a WA volunteering strategy.

Volunteering Minister Mick Murray is now calling for expressions of interest for the VCRG to fill four positions – two from the community services and volunteering sector, and two for volunteers from the general public.

The group will include representatives from not-for-profit and volunteering organisations including Volunteering WA, the corporate sector, research institutions, State Government representatives and individual volunteers.

More information is available from http://www.volunteeringwa.org.au/vcrg and applications close on November 29, 2017.
