Comedy to bring hundreds of people to CBD for Mental Health Week

After hugely popular performances in previous years, Mental Health Week 2017 will again officially close with a night of stand-up comedy designed to raise community awareness of mental health issues.

Featuring homegrown WA comedians, Stand Up! For Comedy is expected to attract an audience of about 600 people at the State Theatre Centre of WA tomorrow (October 14).

It will be hosted by Werzel Montague and features a line-up of brilliant comedians, including Janelle Koenig, David Tuffley and Emma Krause.

The aim of Mental Health Week is to promote mental health awareness and to reduce stigma in Western Australia.

Stand Up! For Comedy is supported by Perth Theatre Trust and the Western Australian Association for Mental Health (WAAMH), and proceeds from the event will go to the WAAMH to reinvest back into community support services.
