$1.7 million in regional airport funding up for grabs

Regional and remote airports across Western Australia are invited to apply for the latest round of Regional Airports Development Scheme (RADS) grants, totalling almost $1.7 million.

The RADS grants are aimed at helping regional and remote airports to improve air services, airport infrastructure and air safety by providing access to funding.

All eligible owners or leaseholders of regional airports that can be accessed by the public are encouraged to apply for the latest RADS funding.

The overall 2017-19 RADS budget was $3.88 million, with the first round of 2017-19 RADS grants being awarded to 15 regional airports sharing in about $2.2 million in State Government funding.

The second round for 2017-19 is now open with nearly $1.7 million in funds up for grabs.

Applications for grants must provide for common-user transport infrastructure to improve air services and/or air safety for regional communities.

RADS grants are funded through the Department of Transport.

All applications for grants will be assessed by the RADS Consultative Committee which comprises of representatives from the Department of Transport and other key government agencies and stakeholders.

Applications are available for downloading at http://www.transport.wa.gov.au/RADS and close at 5pm (WST) on November 13, 2017.
