WA kids to discover the benefits of medical research

The Telethon Kids Institute has received a $1.5 million Lotterywest grant from the State Government to build a Discovery Centre at the new Perth Children’s Hospital.

Located at the northern entrance, the Centre will provide an educational environment, away from hospital rooms and clinical environments, where young children, and their families and carers, can learn about the work being carried out by Institute researchers.

The Centre’s hub will be on the ground level of the new hospital, but there will also be other exhibits around the hospital, and mobile units which can be taken to hospital wards to provide children who can’t leave the ward with an interactive experience.
