Minister farewells retiring DFES Commissioner Wayne Gregson

Emergency Services Minister Fran Logan today farewelled and thanked retiring Department of Fire and Emergency Services Commissioner Wayne Gregson on his outstanding service to the people of Western Australia.

At a Transfer of Command ceremony held at the DFES Training Academy in Forrestfield, the Minister said Mr Gregson was to be commended for his role in transforming the Fire and Emergency Services Authority into a government department.

Mr Gregson joined FESA in 2011 as the chief executive officer after spending 31 years with WA Police where he rose to the rank of Assistant Commissioner.

Mr Logan told assembled dignitaries, including former government ministers that worked with the Commissioner, that Mr Gregson had transformed FESA into a professional and future-focused organisation.
