Latest in innovation from across the ditch

Staying up-to-date on the latest in fisheries management across the globe is important to AFMA.

Earlier this month, our neighbours across the Tasman, held their annual Seafood Industry Conference. Held in Wellington, the two day technical workshop and conference had a focus on innovation, with the theme, Oceans of innovation, enhancing a world class fishery. Like Australia, New Zealand is continually looking at the latest in science and research to help improve fisheries management.

From turning hoki skins into nanofiber and then anti-aging products (kid you not!) to the launch of New Zealand’s OpenSeas project, and the latest in sustainability innovation from Denmark, the diversity of ideas and passion for innovation across industry, science and government was immense.

AFMA will be highlighting some of this work on their Facebook page in coming weeks.
