Australia-ASEAN Council promotes food and agricultural trade with ASEAN partners

Diplomatic Heads of Mission and representatives to Australia from ASEAN countries will visit Toowoomba from 14-16 August to promote cooperation between Australia and ASEAN countries in agriculture, infrastructure, logistics, and food distribution in rural areas.

This visit, organised by the Australia-ASEAN Council, will coincide with the AAC’s holding of its first regional board meeting in Toowoomba.

Industry representatives in Toowoomba will have an opportunity to showcase their strengths and capabilities to the ASEAN representatives, expand their networks across industry and government, and discuss opportunities and challenges associated with growing food and agricultural trade between Australia and ASEAN.

The visit is supported by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Toowoomba Regional Council and the Queensland Government, and is being undertaken in the lead up to the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit in March 2018.
